A private chef is a business of privately catering for a family or principal. In other words, a private chef provides culinary services to a private individual or family. The service of a private chef includes menu planning, preparing and cooking meals for their principals, shopping for ingredients and sometimes clearing away and cleaning the kitchen. Meanwhile, a private chef is different from a cook. A chef with more sophisticated culinary skills offers a greater repertoire of dishes and cuisines; generally has more refined food. To be a chef, you must have been trained in a culinary school.
